DIVINE WISDOM FOR DISCERNING TIMES AND SEASONS | SUNDAY SECOND SERVICE | MAKE JESUS FAMOUS

Sunday 12th April 2026 God instructed us to take time for prayer and fasting because we often lack clarity. Without knowing the season (the when and how), it becomes hard for us to live an accurate life. When Jesus was leaving the earth, He told the apostles; Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7 In essence, Jesus was telling the Apostles that their advantage as believers over non-believers is the Holy Spirit in them. However, that advantage can only be realized when we allow Him to lead, guide, and direct us. When we allow Him to lead us, we master our sonship. (Romans 8:14) Jesus is our perfect example. He was led by the Holy Spirit, and He completely yielded to Him. That is why He had an advantage in life—even when He was limited as a man, the Holy Spirit showed up. Everything Jesus did supernaturally was through the power of the Holy Spirit. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." Luke 24:49 The disciples were already born again—Jesus had breathed into them. They had cast out demons and healed the sick before. Yet Jesus told them to wait for the dressing of the Holy Spirit that they would be witnesses to Him. What Jesus was to the Apostles when He walked with them is what the Holy Spirit is to us today-we have the same advantage. Our advantage in life lies in engaging the Holy Spirit in everything we do. (John 16:7) Why the Holy Spirit? Isaiah 11:2 The Holy Spirit is mentioned once among all seven manifestations of the Holy Spirit. This means that the greatest manifestation of the Holy Spirit is not in might but in wisdom, understanding, counsel, and knowledge. That is what makes a man stand out. But the first thing that He requires of us is that He is our Lord. The answer to all life's predicaments is in the Lordship of the Holy Spirit. Jesus recognized the Holy Spirit as His Lord, and from that day, He was led by Him. He became fully submissive to His direction. If the Holy Spirit doesn't become your Lord, what God gives you can easily destroy your life. Luke 21:14-15. The wisdom that comes at that time is not earthly but divine wisdom finding expression through your mouth. We need wisdom to reign and build strong marriages, careers, and lives. Most of the challenges we face arise from the lack of wisdom and knowledge. Genesis 1:14, James 1:17 Light signifies the knowledge component of God. Just as light differentiates day from night, so wisdom is needed to discern the signs, times and seasons, because seasons are what God uses to govern the affairs of the earth. (Genesis 8:22) There is always a specific time within the season to do something. It is not enough to know the season; you must also know the time, too. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Seasons are pockets of time that the Holy Spirit introduces in our lives to accomplish an agenda. The moment the season arrives, you must do all it takes to prepare; otherwise, it will be wasted. Luke 22:14-15 Jesus was the only man who was born to die. However, he would always escape every time they tried to kill him because it was not yet time. But when the time came, He just handed Himself over. Times and seasons in life can only be known to us by the wisdom of the Spirit of the Lord. When God calls us to a place of consecration, He is inviting us to walk into what He has prepared for us. Luke 2:40,52 There is a dimension of wisdom that is not taught, but results from having a relationship with the Holy Spirit. That is the dimension that will make you stand out and cause you to walk into the promises that God has given you. That is why we must cry out to Him to increase us in wisdom. If we do not learn to connect with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to help and lead us in every area of our lives, we shall live ordinary lives, like ones without God in them. In this season, let us ask God to remove every clutter within us so that we may hear His voice, and sharpen our spiritual sight and hearing that our sonship may be manifest.
