Indirect speech : Hari says that he reads in class X. মনত ৰাখিবা যে, (ক) Direct Speech – অত বক্তাৰ কথাবােৰক Inverted Comma (“–“) ৰ ভিতৰত লিখা হয় আৰু ইয়াৰ প্ৰথম word ৰ আদি আখৰটো Capital Letter – ৰে লিখা হয়। (খ) বক্তাই যি কথাবোেৰ কয় তাক Reported Speech বােলে আৰু ইয়াৰ Verb টোক Reported Verb বােলে। যি verb -টোৰ দ্বাৰা Reported speech – টো আৰম্ভ কৰা হয়, তাক Reporting Verb বােলে। Reporte Verb -ৰ tense ৰ ব্যৱহাৰৰ দ্বাৰা Reported Verb – ৰ tense ৰ ব্যৱহাৰ নিয়ন্ত্রিত হয়। Reporting Verb Reported Verb Reported Speech Hari says, “I read in class X” “I read in class X” Rules for the Change of Direct Speech into Indirect Speech : (Direct Speech-ৰ পৰা Indirect Speech – লৈ পৰিৱৰ্তিত কৰাৰ নিয়ম।) : কোনাে এটা Direct Speech- Indirect Speech-লৈ নিবলৈ হ’লে, আমি নিম্নোক্ত কেইটামান বিষয় ভালদৰে বুজি চাব লাগিব। যেনে – (a) kind of sentence (sentence-ৰ প্ৰকাৰ) (b) tense of verb (ক্ৰিয়াৰ কাল) (c) persons of pronouns (সৰ্বনামৰ পুৰুষ) (d) change of some words (কিছুমান শব্দৰ পৰিৱৰ্তন) Direct Speech – ক Indirect Speech – লৈ নিয়াৰ বাবে অৰ্থাৎ change of narration – ৰ বাবে বাক্যবােৰক পাঁচটা ভাগত ভাগ কৰা হয়। যেনে – Statement of Assertive Sentence (বিবৃতি) Question or Interrogative Sentence (প্ৰশ্ন) Imperative Sentence (অনুজ্ঞা) Optative Sentence (ইচ্ছাৰ্থক) Exclamatory Sentence (বিস্ময়সূচক) (b) Changes in the Tenses of Verbs : (Verb- ৰ Tense – ৰ পৰিৱৰ্তন) : (i) If the Reporting Verb is in the Present or in the Future Tense, the tense of the Reported Verb’ doesnot change. (Reporting Verb – তোৰ Present নাইবা Future Tense হ’লে Reported Verb টোৰ Tense-অৰ কোনাে পৰিৱৰ্তন নহয়।) যেনে – Ramen says, “I am ready.” Ramen says that he is ready. Satish will say, “I am wrong.” Satish will say that he is wrong. Haren says, “Children like sweets.” Haren says that children like sweets. (ii) If the Reporting Verb is in the Past Tense, the Reporting Verb is changed into the Corresponding Past Tense : (Reporting Verb-টোৰ Past Tense হলে Reported Verb-টোৰ Corresponding Past Tense হ’ব।) Chart for Corresponding Past Tense : Present Indefinite Tense হ’ব Past Indefinite Tense.
