Over 200 attendees joined our August 2025 Open Day and heard our families’ stories! Listen to Will and Mike's full testimonial about Will's journey at Co-Hive: • Built his business The Will Way • Gained confidence in public speaking • Stepped up as a Co-Hive Ambassador Leader and more! Here's Will and Mike's Speech: Mike: Afternoon everybody. My name’s Mike Gibbons and this is my son Will, who’s at Co-Hive. After school it was always a challenge — what did Will want to do? We tried a couple of SLES programs. Good people, but they didn’t work for Will. Then my wife met Kim, and that’s how we found Co-Hive. It’s been fabulous since. We thought we’d do this interview-style because Will’s the one you want to hear from. Will, you’re establishing your own business. Tell us about it. Will: My name’s Will and I’m starting a business to help people with disabilities learn sport — it’s called The Will Way – Disability Sports. Mike: Fantastic. How has Co-Hive helped? Will: They’ve given me time, resources, and confidence step by step. Here’s my Will Way shirt — the logo has nine hands, representing teamwork and inclusion. Mike: Beautiful. Will’s already worked with groups like Friendship Circle and camps, running groups of 20. Pretty impressive. You’re also studying, right? Will: Yes, a Certificate III in Fitness. Mike: And the challenges? Will: The workload and understanding the material. Each module is tough, but Co-Hive teaches me hard work and balance. Even when things get tough, I keep pushing on. Mike: That’s resilience. And you’ve also been public speaking? Will: Yes, at Emmanuel High School for Autism Week — more than 500 people. I was nervous, but Co-Hive taught me to be confident and be myself. Mike: Brilliant. And it’s not all hard work. Will, tell us about the ski trips. Will: I went to Perisher. Thought I’d ace it, but I kept falling. I learnt that no matter how tough things get, you keep getting back up and never give up. Mike: Well said. Final thoughts — how has Co-Hive helped you? Will: They’ve helped me become who I want to be. Like a Marvel superhero — it’s about hard work and stamina. Having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t achieve. With resilience, you can. Co-Hive has taught me so much and I’m still learning every day. Mike: I’m enormously proud of him. Will always had these abilities, but Co-Hive brought them out. Well done, mate. ______________________________________________________________ Co-Hive Driving Change, Transforming Lives of Young Adults with Disability, Ages 17-35 with Low Support Needs 🖥️ Visit Our Website: www.cohive.com.au 📱 Follow us on Socials: Facebook: / cohiveau Instagram: / cohive_au LinkedIn:
