I found the intro to this disc weird but likeable. Oh, the early 80s and the early days of home video. You've probably seen the bassy LaserVision swoop before, but this hypnotic lounge music and hall of mirrors logo may be unfamiliar. This comes from the original MVC pressing, though I hear the later CBS/Fox reissue is a worse reprint of the same master (including this intro material). Other notes: -this is one of the rare laserdiscs that do not use MM:SS time codes, but minutes only (actually probably H:MM, but both sides are 55 minutes long, so the timer goes from 0:00 to 0:55) -the open matte picture is very high, not that you see much of it here, and the 20th CF logo is actually hard matted -it says it's a "special" video presentation, but it's just the movie; were home releases still a novelty, or was this because it was by special arrangement with the studio? -this is analog-only sound, being from 1981, with CX off during this capture (I think); there is some debate whether CX actually changes the sound on this release
