To the Gates of Hell | Battle of Peleliu 1944 – Part 1

In September 1944, US Navy's Pacific Fleet moved on to the next objective of their island-hopping campaign, the Palaus islands. According to the plan designated as Operation Stalemate II, the American troops were to take the archipelago's two southernmost islands, Peleliu and Angaur.
