The First Nations Native Food Innovators Program was a partnership between social enterprises Young Change Agents and First Nations-led social enterprise EM-power Foundation. The program was designed to boost STEM education and entrepreneurship among First Nations youth in Greater Brisbane and Greater Adelaide. In this video from the Brisbane program students were able to tap into knowledge from local elders, design thinking experts, agricultural scientists and innovators in this hands-on inquiry-based program. The program started with three one-day workshops at local schools in the Greater Brisbane area, where the top teams from each workshop were invited to attend the two-day Youth Incubator to further their ideas. All students selected for the Youth Incubator created social enterprise solutions relating to problems in the Native food and Agriculture sector. This program was made possible through funding from the Federal Government Maker Grant. To learn more about this initiative please get in touch by emailing [email protected].
