Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who disarmed one of the gunmen in the Bondi Beach terrorist attack in Sydney, has received over 1.1 million Australian dollars (more than R$ 4 million) in donations while recovering in hospital. He was shot twice during the attack that killed 15 people. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (Labour Party) praised his courage, and the Premier of New South Wales, Chris Minns, visited Ahmed in the hospital.
