Day Twenty-Four: REVENGE!!! Location: Kefka's Tower Characters: Gau (35) Locke (35) Relm (35) Clyde (31) Sabin (31) Cyan (34) Edgar (32) Strago (36) Daryl (32) Mog (35) Celes (35) Terra (35) Time played today: 1:24 Total time played: 20:31 Steps Taken: 43,907 I went into Kefka's Tower, I set up my teams as I wanted. Had element shields on all of my party members, over 185 defense, I was good to go. Plus, 2 behemoth suits. Got a lot of circlets, ninja stars, and life 2 on nearly everyone but maybe 2 out of every group. First boss I fought with was Atma. Atma went down pretty quickly, I used some powerful magic to defeat him. Good thing he never used ultima. The next boss was the Gold Dragon. This guy is really weak to water, so I used aqua rake, which is more powerful than cleansweep, don't be fooled by the MP amount. Cleansweep may use more, but it's weaker. Other than that, not much trouble. I find it odd how this group really doesn't have much elemental immunity to some spells, maybe this is related to some of the genji shields/aegis that just happened to be on them, who knows? Inferno was next. Wasn't too tough, but I was on the edge of my toes for a while, meteor is really strong here. Next was the Skull Dragon. This thing is a joke, it's weak to pearl and fire, with a pearl lance that means nearly instant death, and anything weak to fire or pearl, is VERY weak to fire or pearl. I claimed the crusader magicite as a gift, Merry Christmas, huh? Next up, Doom. Wasn't a very tough battle, that illumina really came in handy with casting pearl. Watch out for demon rage, it's very powerful, as you can tell. Next up (don't you love me saying next up?) was Guardian. Bolt spell will work nicely, giga volt was a big help, along with bum rush. After awhile it'll be down in no time. NEXT UP! Goddess... I kind of had Relm and Strago die pretty quickly which I didn't expect. They wouldn't stay alive either. But I still managed to kill the Goddess with no trouble. Poltergeist was a little tougher. My team wasn't a good choice for this fight. It's weak to poison, but absorbs a lot of other elements. Gau' stupid genji armor was too weak to handle a fire 3. Other than that I wasn't at too much of a danger... Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for... or maybe just me... Kefka. I'm not going to tell you how many times I had to keep doing this, keep trying to end it with the same party members, climbing the tiers, that dreaded tier 2, and the final battle itself... Just that annoying intro with dancing mad 4 playing echoing is a sum up of how my mind felt from all of the havoc wings and ultima's I saw. Kefka is absolutely impossible around this level, but I couldn't go level up, didn't have time... No ultima was even worse. Kefka's a boss that's easy at like, level 50, or 40's with over powered magic. But in your 30's, that's not good. The only reason I won was because I had managed to teach life 2, cure 3, and life 3 on mostly all of my party members. Strago was the only party member I had who could survive ultima, so I needed him at all times. Or, he could survive ultima if 2 or more party members were alive at least. It does around 2100-2200 damage to all, he just happened to have around 2100 HP. This was my last try before giving up and just saying "well, I tried..." But my final try ended in the most flawless way ever, just listen to this... I used REVENGE, doing 2010 damage. REVENGE is all I wanted to give to him, and 2010 is the upcoming year... how awesome is that? Well, I finally did this, all I can say is that making videos of it requires a lot of patience and work, I was pushing myself to do this even though I had so many more important things needed to be done. I think next year I'll stick to simple journal entries...
