For over a millennium, Hussain’s martyrdom has been commemorated annually throughout the Shi’ite Muslim world during the rites of Ashura, with symbolic representation of mourning and sorrow, or even certain form of rituals affiliated with the mourning of Hussain, also known as the ‘Hussaini rituals’ (Sha'air al-Hussain). The remembrance of the suffering of Hussain induce a sense of grief or pain be it emotional or physical which are considered as a part of the Shi’ite rituals known as Azadari, bearing the meaning of mourning and lamentation or sometimes being referred to as Ta’ziya, meaning ‘condolence’. This is a video showing the procession which took place in Marble Arch, London - in remembrance of Imam Hussain (AS) and the message he stood for.
