Post - injection inflammation can occur right away or hours after an injection happens. Swelling and irritation (inflammation) maybe present where the needle entered the skin. This is a normal reaction to the needle or to the medicine given or it can be both. Usually and in most cases, it is not a serious type and can disappear three to five days after injection. Symptoms of post-injection inflammation: Swelling Itching Pain Redness Warmth Home Management: 1. Can apply cold compress 15 to 30 minutes at the injection site. 2. Can take OTC pain meds. It can help reduce pain and inflmmation 3. Prescribed meds.
