December 20, 2012 Patriots, On behalf of the taxpayers of Pinellas County, local Patriot Patrick Wheeler has reached into his pocket to the tune of $30,000 to pay legal fees to bring the Pinellas county commission into compliance with the will of the pinellas voters who overwhelmingly (73%) passed a local referendum for term limits for our county for the commissioners in 1996. Unbelievably, 16 years later, the commissioners continue on as though this never occurred. I will not take you into the weeds on the details. After a Florida Supreme Court Ruling in May 2012, Patrick filed suit in July 2012 to force the Pinellas commissioners to comply. As of this date the county has now hired 8, yes 8 attorneys to fight us, the taxpayers, who through Patrick and his money are challenging them. The first round was their attempt to have the suit dismissed by the Judge in early December at the first hearing. They lost and then promptly hired 4 more attorneys bringing their headcount to 8! If we win, 4 Pinellas county commissioners out of 7 will be outed. Karen Seel John Morroni Ken Welch Susan Latvala This is huge opportunity to return our county to justice and out of the hands of career politicians spending us into bankruptcy and high taxes. I am asking you to please send money to help Patrick's One Attorney, the very capable John Shahan! I watched Mr. Shahan confront these attorneys one at a time two weeks ago at the last hearing. He was formidable. He was fighting for us. We need to help! County Lawyers Up! Have you heard of the term "Bury them in legal fees?" That is the strategy being taken by the county against us! 8 to 1 attorneys and using our tax dollars to pay the 8 to fight us! Following is the list of their attorneys: 1. John A. Powell, Jr., Esquire 2. Steven C. Dupre, Esquire 3. Jacqueline R. Ambrose, Esquire 4. Sarah Richardson, Esquire 5. Sylvia H. Walbolt, Esquire 6. Christy Donovan Pemberton, Esquire 7.
