N/S Work Train Pulls 15T with Broken Compressor from Main Line

Lots of interesting scanner chatter here - from dry humor to pay to "union" work. It all started when Norfolk Southern motor 6957 lost all oil from an air compressor north of Waynesboro, Virginia. Dispatchers sidelined the 15T at the Waynesboro switchyard, and the V83?local work train crew pulled the train off the main line. Not sure if the 6957’s air compressor leak was solved at the switchyard, or whether it had to be sent to the Roanoke maintenance shop. It was bitterly cold on this particular morning, so perhaps that played a factor in the compressor's failure. It certainly didn't make things easier for the two crews who had to lash the motors together twice - after the first coupling was unsuccessful!
