Weight Loss Surgery in Mexico Post-Op Weeks 9 & 10 - Transfer Addiction | My Gastric Bypass Journey

I had RNY Gastric Bypass on December 1, 2020 at Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana Mexico. This is my weeks 9 & 10 post-op update - we need to talk about transfer addiction. The mental health side of the weight loss surgery journey is so important and I really feel like it isn't talked about as much as it needs to be. Transfer addiction can happen if you have a compulsive desire to eat, and you switch over to another compulsive activity after your weight loss surgery. Surgery does not fix what goes on in our minds and it only touches our tummies! It's important to deal with our mental health and the causes of over-eating, compulsive eating, and addiction because surgery only deals with the symptom, not the cause.
