We look at power output, special features, usability, price and more. The difference in price between top end Weber Genesis II LX and the Weber Summit is about $100. So what's the difference between the two? The Summit has an extra internal shroud to keep out the wind and keep the heat more consistent. They both have upper racks but the Genesis LX II is foldable. However, the Summit has a built-in foldable rotisserie with an infrared burner right behind it. The Summit has a much heavier gauge stainless steel grates. Both of them have stainless Flavorizer bars. The feature that really stands out for the Summit is the dedicated Sear Station that has a very high BTU output. They both have LED tank indicators, backlit knobs and handle lights for working in the dark. The Summit has a built-in smoker box with its own burner, which isn't very common even in higher-end grills.
