The mission was straightforward enough: seal Bug Holes across the ruins of a shattered mega city and make sure nothing ugly keeps crawling out of the ground. The operation came with complications. Roving Shriekers were in the air, SEAF units were active in the area, and the planet itself was doing its best to kill everyone involved. Frequent earthquakes sent divers and bugs alike flying, while periods of extreme heat drained stamina and pushed weapons toward overheating faster than usual. And yes — Dragonroaches were present. Ugh. I mean… yay. I carried the AR-2 Coyote, wearing the DS-42 Federation’s Blade heavy set, providing 40% resistance to fire, gas, acid, and electrical damage — a solid choice when everything either explodes, burns, or melts you. For support, I dropped in with the Eagle 500kg Bomb, LIFT-850 Jump Pack, LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, and the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit. I dove in solo, threw out an SOS, called in my gear… and immediately took a quick, unexpected trip to the Clone Factory after getting launched clean out of my Exosuit and across the map. Strange happenings, but once that was out of the way, things settled down — as much as bug missions ever do. The squad filled in, Bug Holes were sealed, and we even knocked out a few side objectives along the way. Extraction nearly went sideways thanks to a breakdown in communication — a hold-position order ignored and an unfortunate in-Pelican execution — but despite the chaos, everyone made it out alive. We’re continuing to run the Beta Slim Version of Helldivers 2, testing performance on the RTX 5090 and i7-14700K during effect-heavy missions like this. This mission was recorded on a dedicated PC using a capture card, played in 4K Ultra settings, with MSI Afterburner monitoring hardware throughout.
