Community Connections Hawai'i: The Dangerous Combination of Menthol and Vaping

New research by a team of University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa experts shows that menthol in e-cigarettes can be harmful to respiratory health. The findings come as e-cigarette use is on the rise among Hawaiʻi’s youth, with about one third of all high schoolers being regular users. This session will explore the increasing research evidence, especially long-term toxicological data that emerged only in recent years, has suggested that e-cigarettes are an immediate threat to lung health.
