one more tape of "multidimensional music" by madame Chollet is once again something special ~ dense, powerful and enigmatic long-form compositions which are meant to interact with the listener on every level, from physical to etheric bodies. the tape supplied with a large booklet, explaining the concept behind multidimensionality of sound and the effect this music made on the subjects during the medical studies. which showed a lot of positive effects, including brain hemisphere balancing and raise of oxygen in blood vessels. the booklet also goes further into the description of altered state of consciousness and all the traditional topics one may find in the new age booklet, and by its scientific approach reminds me of dr. Jeffrey Thompson's albums. the music here is one of its kind though, always balancing on the edge between being soporific and energetic, repetitive and changing, grounding and zoning away. just like the previous tape i've uploaded ( • Jacotte Chollet ~ Invisible Présence (1991... ), Renaissance starts with a bit more melancholic vibe, switching to more luminous and elevated mood of the second composition which gives a feeling of flying through a crystal clear, frosty air, towards majestic mountainous scenery. flip side goes further into that sensation, enriching it with fairytale playfulness and astral vividness, which is very rewarding to listen to on headphones. the last track lands us back to earth, but with a sense of awe and admiration, making it feel as if the journey has ended in a garden of Eden. or maybe it's a vision of the future Earth? who knows, and i think it depends on us, whether it would be real or imaginary, because even thought the difference is not that big as we used to think, the "real" is something we share with others and that changes a lot. for Renaissance to happen, one must cherish hope and use the powers of imagination ~ because new world always begins from a dream. 00:00 Expansion 10:18 Transformation 30:19 Liberté 41:33 Renaissance
