Iranian state media describe this as Iran's first multi-satellite launch — placing three domestically developed satellites into orbit using a Russian Soyuz-2.1b rocket from Vostochny Cosmodrome. Iranian officials say this is the seventh time Iran has used Russian launch services. Ambassador Kazem Jalali said the satellites were designed and built in Iran "despite all sanctions and threats."
