Concours d’Elegance 2020 | Super 8mm Short Film
Long time no upload... So a few months ago, I posted a video of my first ever bit of super 8mm footage I comprised into a short film from a very special car show in London ( you can watch that here - • London's Rare Classic Car Show | Super 8mm... ). This video is my second attempt and composition of super 8mm footage, filmed at arguably the most prestigious and impressive car show the UK has to offer, Concours d'elegance Hampton Court. Originally when I received the footage back from processing, I was a little disheartened. Again a lot of the footage had come out blurry, I took a lot more time and effort to comprise my shots and focus them properly when shooting, and there was a definite improvement from the first roll I shot at the other event, but I had hoped for a better ratio of useable footage. Maybe it's the camera, I don't know, I don't want to blame the camera. I am however going to experiment with another super 8mm camera and see what the results are, but I am still very new to this world, so no doubt I have a lot to learn. Regardless of this little hiccup, I'm actually really pleased with this short video I've put together. Before I even shot the event, I knew I wanted to use this track by Slowthai. I envisioned putting together my film to this song. I wanted to use something that you wouldn't necessarily expect, and it's produced quite a juxtaposition in doing so. I'm really pleased with how well they've oddly married up. (I'm sure a lot of people who attend this event would disagree). What would you guys like to see footage of? Drifting maybe?
