Watch a Timelapse of coastal fog cloud formations moving in from the Pacific Ocean filling up a river valley. I was sitting on a stump at my forest property in the mountains looking at the view. This was such a great view at sunset. I turned on the camera to capture the fog drifting inland. Along the immediate Pacific coast of Northern California, Oregon and Washington, this is common in the summer. This happens during times of onshore flow when air flow is moving from west to east. Cool moist air off the Pacific moves inland up the river valleys in the evening and overnight. When the sun comes up in the morning, it burns off the fog resulting in a sunny day until evening when the fog comes back in again.
