We'll be honest: the launch of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted gave us a burst of wild nostalgia. This game didn't just update the good old mix of tower defense and puzzles – it reminded us how cute and funny games could be in the 2000s. The guys at PopCap Games are back and have packed the remaster with a ton of new content, improvements, and features from various ports. But there's a catch—they're clearly determined to preserve the original style at all costs. The result is a somewhat uneven remaster: on the one hand, it's the most complete version of Plants vs. Zombies ever, but on the other, key moments feel unpolished, as if they weren't quite finished. But we were still swept away by the atmosphere. It was like finding an old copy of the game: a smile inadvertently appears through the old school style, and you feel like a kid again. The same zombies, but now with co-op and everything. The whole point of PvZ is its cute cartoonish atmosphere. It's like watching a children's cartoon about a zombie apocalypse. The title doesn't bother explaining where the sentient plants and hordes of zombies came from—and rightly so. Why do we need an extra plot when everything is so clear? The main thing is the thrill and madness, the atmosphere of awkward fun. In fact, this approach has always earned the series a lot of love, as you don't have to worry about complicated stories. Replanted has absorbed everything that made the various versions of the game famous. It has the 2009 classic and almost all the content from the mobile and console ports, right down to the Chinese edition. And yes, local co-op and PvP from the consoles are now here too, something we personally really missed. Overall, Replanted is a great chance to rediscover why the original still captivates us, while also taking in all the new features they've given us over the years. It's great that the developers crammed so much content into the game—we enjoyed revisiting the old features. Why the old gameplay still hooks me The real thrill of PvZ is that the strategy unfolds against a puzzle backdrop: plant peashooters, wallnuts, and sunflowers on the lawn and watch them fend off attacks from a variety of zombies: brutal trainers, zombie car racers, and a bunch of completely crazy undead. And it's truly addictive: even after 16 years, we've found ourselves back playing the game. If you try it, don't be surprised – you'll start placing plants in squares, coming up with a plan, and watching it work. This game is simply designed to engage your brain and delight your eyes at the same time. It's safe to say that this game has the most amazing combination of puzzle and action. These two genres finally complement each other! Generally, the starting levels of PvZ are pretty simple, but sometimes the game manages to throw in an unexpectedly challenging surprise. Replanted doesn't really interfere here: at first, the mission seems easy to complete, but then suddenly some really cool new zombies appear, and everything changes. Overall, the challenges remain manageable, but these sudden one-shots can catch you off guard when you least expect it. Sometimes you catch yourself thinking: these difficulty spikes are bloodcurdling. But at the same time, you want to point your finger at the monitor and say, "Wow!" What's special is that Replanted doesn't try to fix what already works well, but rather tries to diversify the gameplay. For example, you can now speed up battles: press the right button, and everything flies by 2-3 times faster. It's great – you don't have to sit around doing nothing between waves. #plantsvszombiesreplanted #pvz #plantsvszombies #plantsvzombies
