Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 59-year-old who stole a backhoe and rode it across the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys on Tuesday. Carl Blahnik of Marathon, Florida, now faces eight charges relating to endangering the officers, stealing the backhoe and damaging the bridge. Blahnik was responsible for the closure of the bridge for several hours and was only arrested after driving over a spike trap set by officers, reported WFLA.
