GREAT POLICE WORK: Two teens arrested. Two guns confiscated. Stolen vehicle returned to owner.

Today, March 4, 2022 at 3:43am, Sgt. Leppla located a stolen vehicle that was running in the alley north of E. 25th Ave. east of Bancroft St. Officers approached the vehicle and observed there was a front seat occupant who was asleep with a handgun lying next to him on the center console. Officers found all the doors on the vehicle were locked. Officers blocked the vehicle in with cruisers in order to immobilize it. Officers broke the driver side window using a window punch and removed the driver. After removing the driver a passenger was located in the back seat also armed with a handgun. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the vehicle was returned. CPD Property Crimes detectives were notified and they interviewed the suspects who are 14 years old and 16 years old. Charges are forthcoming. "The officers involved did a great job arresting both suspects, recovering two guns, and a stolen vehicle," Sgt. Stallings
