Left of Black host Dr. Mark Anthony Neal chats with Dr. Treva B. LInsey about her latest book, "Colored No More: Reinventing Black Womenhood in Washington D.C." (University of Illinois Press, 2017), Beyoncé, and Professor Bay. Dr. Lindsey is an associate professor of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University. She specializes in African American women’s history, black popular and expressive culture, black feminism(s), hip-hop studies, critical race and gender theory, and sexual politics. Dr. Neal teaches Black Popular Culture in the Department of African and African-American Studies at Duke University.
