This Thursday, March 4th, one day after Brazil recorded a new record number of COVID-19 deaths in a 24-hour period, President Jair Bolsonaro criticized the isolation recommendations. And at an event in the state of Goiás, crowds gathered. Given the rising number of cases, restrictions continue to grow in the country. The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, announced that public spaces in the city are prohibited from being in public spaces from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., although circulation is permitted. Bars will only be allowed to operate from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parties and events of all kinds must be canceled, and beachfront businesses are banned. In the last 24 hours, 75,102 new cases of coronavirus and 1,699 deaths from the disease were recorded, according to data from the Ministry of Health. In total, the country now has 10,793,732 infections, 260,970 deaths, and 9,637,020 recoveries. The seven-day moving average is 57,610 cases and 1,353 deaths. In Brazil, 7,591,266 people have received the first dose and 2,426,554 the second. Worldwide, 271 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have already been administered.
