[Anchor Lead] The White House has announced the official schedule of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s upcoming visit to Pyongyang to discuss the nuclear agreement between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Pompeo will be in North Korea from July 5-7 before heading to Tokyo where he will meet with South Korean and Japanese officials. [Pkg] The White House has confirmed the timeline of the third visit to North Korea by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is overseeing denuclearization talks on the Korean Peninsula. Mike Pompeo will depart for Pyongyang on July 5 to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and discuss follow-up denuclearization measures. [Soundbite] Sarah Sanders (White House Spokesperson) The U.S. State Department said that Pompeo will spend two days in Pyongyang to discuss the implementation of the agreement signed at the Singapore summit. However, it did not release a detailed schedule of Pompeo's visit. The U.S. secretary of state has visited Pyongyang twice so far, in April and May, as President Trump's special envoy. His third visit comes about 20 days after the Singapore summit. The beginning of high-level talks between Washington and Pyongyang is expected to speed up the denuclearization process.
