Ghost Of Tsushima Director's Cut Part 42 A New Horizon Main Tales

Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Featuring an open world, the player controls Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The game was released for PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020, and a Director's Cut for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 was released on August 20, 2021. It received praise for its visuals, art direction, narrative, and combat but was criticised for its open world design. Ghost of Tsushima also earned several award nominations and wins. It had sold 6.5 million copies by March 2021. This is best one of the greatest games that I have played over the course of 30 years of gaming. I love Japanese culture and Japanese history, especially, in the broadest of terms, Feudal Japan. I have always found the Samurai caste to be alluring in their code of Bushido. Not to mention several other reasons, but I'll focus on the game here. Sucker Punch really struck a great balance here, perhaps nearly perfect between keeping Jin and the Samurai in general, as grounded as possible whilst also striking those chords of these fierce warriors in a near perfect way they have become to be romanticised by literature and pop culture. One of the biggest parallels that I see personally between this game and something that romanticises Samurai.. is Samurai Champloo. The game just gives off this anime like vibe without it being an anime at all. Plus its nod to Classic Samurai films. They mashed this together to make something really fun and exciting to play. The world looks beautiful and is plainly handcrafted! The art direction that this went in had lent it to being one of the most gorgeous games I have seen, despite it not being one of the most graphically demanding games. I put this up there with RDR2 in terms of detail and beauty within the world. The world also feels very alive. It is not dull nor drab. Audio is another highlight of this wonderful game. the music and soundtrack is enjoyable and calming more often than not. The SFX is amazing. From the leaves rustling, to waters rushing and Jin's Katana crashing against a Mongolian's sword. It's all very well done! The story is pretty amazing! It is an epic tale that sprawls into many other tales, as epic tales often do. There is much to do, much to explore and accomplish. One of the best choices that SP made was to lock the best gear behind progression of tales. No grinding or having to spend real currency. Just enjoy the tale, soak it in and get some cool gear at the end of it. The best I save for last. Which is combat. The combat system strikes a lovely balance of it being fictional, but grounded unforgiving. This does depend on the difficulty chosen, but let us say on Lethal, it is much more grounded and brutal. You need to be focused and you need to be quick! Taking on six or so Mongols from stealth is very satisfying with many "oh, cool" moments to be had. Taking them on head on yields the same results. After about 20 into the game, you'll have a lot of neat tools and utilities at your disposal. Rushing a large group of Mongols on the road to chain assassinate 3 of them, drop a smoke bomb and do that again, usually results in the last 2 or 3 running away. If one or two don't, you can perfect parry or perfect dodge for some nice insta-kills (usually). Combat on horseback isn't very good. But that's not really the point of GoT. Jin will level through unlocking new stances and techniques as well as upgrading the damage output of his Katana and his Tanto (only in terms of speed and silence for assassinations) Armor and charms will play a big role as each set of armour is very specialised. Finally the duels in this game is one of the best game mechanics I have seen. SP implemented these very, very well. They're a lot of fun, but are very challenging! As for PS4 exclusives go, this is firmly number 2 for me directly behind God of War, on its tails. Ghost is that good!!
