USA approves the purchase of 4 MQ-9 Sky Guardian Drones worth 600 Million Dollars for Belgium.

The program cost includes 5 AN/DAS-4 Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems, 15 Embedded GPS and INS Systems, 5 AN/APY-8 Lynx Synthetic Aperture Radars and 5 Detect and Avoid Systems as well as personnel training. Sky Guardian is a Next-Generation Multi-Mission Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance Un-Manned Aerial Vehicle capable of performing missions such as intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, maritime patrol, border surveillance and disaster relief. This drone can also operate within the civilian airspace. It can carry 363kg of payloads in the fuselage and 1814kg externally. It can perform automatic takeoff and landing operations under all-weather conditions.
