Corelli: Trio Sonata in F Major (op. 3, no. 1) for recorders

0:00 I. Grave 1:25 II. Allegro 3:02 III. Vivace 5:44 IV. Allegro This trio sonata by Arcangelo Corelli was likely first published in 1689; the arrangement for three recorders is after a romantic version of the piece by Joseph Joachim, the great violinist. Unlike the traditional baroque sonata form, this piece starts with a slow movement and then has three fast movements in varying meters. The two top parts, originally violins, are equal in range, and the lowest part, originally continuo of keyboard and ‘cello, has been modified slightly to fit the range of the bass recorder.
