(21 Oct 2014) A nursing assistant in Spain is awaiting the results of a second Ebola test, a family spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Teresa Romero, 44, was declared clear of all traces of the virus on Sunday by the Spanish government, but the results of a further test were pending on Tuesday. Family spokeswoman Teresa Mesa told journalists that Romero's inner strength was responsible for "50 per cent of her recovery" while in quarantine at Carlos II hospital in Madrid. Romero had treated two Spanish missionaries who were brought back to Madrid for treatment at Carlos III hospital after contracting Ebola in West Africa. The missionaries, Miguel Pajares and Manuel Garcia Viejo, later died.
