Dai vari argomenti in questi versetti, quello che mi ha colpito di più era quello dell'adorazione di Maria di Betania. Maria ha mostrato un cuore di vera adorazione di Gesu', ha capito e si è sottomessa alla volontà del Signore, preparandoLo per la Sua morte. Il nardo, cioé, l'olio comprato valeva 300 denari. Allora una persona guadagnava circa un denaro al giorno... quindi, un stipendio di un anno è quello che costava l'olio. Il dare e il servire fanno parte dell'adorazione, e in queste cose c'è l'elemento di sacrificio. Come ha detto Davide, "non offrirò all'Eterno, il mio DIO, olocausti che non mi costino nulla." =2 Samuele 24:24= Credo che come credenti, ciò che vogliamo offrire al Signore è il tutto di noi. Quello che desideriamo è di vedere la Sua gloria e il Suo splendore. Più che Lo conosciamo, più grande è il nostro desiderio, anzì, il nostro bisogno di adorarLo. From the various lessons/themes to be found in these verses, I was especially drawn to that of worship, in particular, Mary of Bethany's worship of Jesus. She demonstrated a true heart of worship and she showed wisdom and humbleness by submitting to the Lord's will, preparing His body for the cross. A pound of pure nard was used to annoint Jesus' feet and head =Mark 14:3= A pound of this oil cost more than 300 drachmes, one drachmi being the equivalent to one day's wages. So nearly a year's earnings were spent for this precious oil. I've come to understand that giving and serving are both vital parts of true worship, and often, if not always, there is an element of sacrifice, as well. As David says in 2Samuel 24:24 "I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing." I believe that as Christians we desire to offer ourselves completely to the Lord and to His service. We desire to see His glory and His majesty. The more we know Him, the greater our desire and need to worship Him. In knowing who He is and what He's done for us, continues to do... how can we not respond to Him with our worship?
