Wisconsin DHS Secretary Interview: Immunization Rates in Wisconsin

A new report from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) found a slight decline in the rate of immunized students in the state as schools opened for the new year. While experts advising that immunization rates of 95 percent are necessary to protect medically vulnerable populations from diseases like the measles, only 91.9 percent of Wisconsin students are meeting full immunization records — a .4 percent decline from the previous year that continues a trend of more parents opting out of vaccinations for their children due to personal convictions. Watch DHS Secretary Designee Andrea Palm speak live with Zac Schultz about the report and what it means for Wisconsin students' health.
