A perspective from Serbia on Russia’s War in Ukraine and its implications in the Western Balkans

What are the consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine within the Western Balkans and in particular in Serbia? Jelica Minić, former assistant of the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Serbia, former Deputy Secretary General of the RCC and President of the European Movement in Serbia, analyzes the ambivalent position of Aleksandar Vučić's government. Indeed, Serbia is candidate to enter in the EU but the country is also influenced by Russia, which gives a feeling of insecurity for the public opinion. Jelica Minić is interviewed by Florent Marciacq, Co-director of the Balkans' Observatory of the Fondation Jean-Jaurès. —— Recognised as being of public utility since its creation in 1992, the Jean-Jaurès Foundation is one of the first French political foundations. It is a place where we reflect, dialogue and anticipate since thirty years in order to build a more democratic world, to understand the history of the social and labor movement and to invent the ideas of tomorrow. —— Follow the Jean-Jaurès Foundation on: https://jean-jaures.org Facebook :   / fondationjeanjaures   Twitter :   / j_jaures   LinkedIn :   / fondation-jean-jaurès   —— To support the Jean-Jaurès Foundation with a donation, please visit: https://jean-jaures.org/faire-un-don —— As the Jean-Jaurès Foundation is a forum where we debate, we have given Internet users the opportunity to comment on this video and we encourage you to debate between you and with us.
