You're watching Richard Niles conducting his BANDZILLA arrangement of Donald Fagen's "Florida Room" with the BBC Big Band, 2002 at the Falkirk Festival in Callendar Park, featuring PAT KANE (lead singer of HUE & CRY). The band features many other BANDZILLA regulars including NIGEL HITCHCOCK (tenor sax), IAN THOMAS (drums), LAURENCE COTTLE (bass), the backing vocal dream team of Tony Walters, Kim Chandler and Iain McKenzie. Martin Shaw (trumpet, jazz chair), Jim Watson (piano), Phil Robson (guitar). Niles and Kane started working together when Niles arranged an early HUE & CRY single (“I Refuse”) and later produced and arranged their album “Showtime”. Richard and Pat’s shared love for jazz created a project treating some of their favorite songs to Niles’ distinctive arrangements.
