We are back with our second block in our Online Quilting Bee Skill Builder. This week we are showing you how to create a log cabin quilt block. This block is actually made up of 4 small log cabins, put together to create a large 18" block, so you'll get lots of practice! My favorite part of this block, is the illusion you get of a circle and round piecing with all rectangle pieces. If you make the strips even smaller, you can really start to see the circle and curves come out. To make the block, you'll need: White 4 @ 2 1/2" square 4 @ 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" 4 @ 2 x 6 1/2" 4 @ 2 x 8" Dark Green 2 @ 2 x 8" 2 @ 2 x 9 1/2" Gray 2 @ 2 x 8" 2 @ 2 x 9 1/2" Light Green 4 @ 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" 4 @ 2 1/2 x 6 1/2" Yellow 4 @ 2 1/2" square Want to sew with friends?
