How to Control Weeds in Sorghum Hybrid and fodder Crop | Crop Reformer

Sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) is an important crop of Pakistan. It is not only grown as fodder but grain purpose as well. In this video, we have advised the farmers about how to control weeds in sorghum crop. Mesotrione plus atrazine is commonly used in maize and sugarcane but this crop is fairly susceptible to this herbicide. Its phytotoxic effects damage sorghum crop at the commonly used forms for maize crop. That is why, it is advised that its use should be avoided. In the light of research trials, it is suggested that Atrazine 38 SC @ 250-350 ml/acre may safely be sprayed on sorghum crop for the control of Digera arvensis or Tandla, Trianthema portulacastrum hogweed or itsit, Cucumis melo var. Aggrasstis or Chibher and such other broad leaf weeds only. It is suggested to spray atrazine @ 250 ml within a period 12 days of sowing in dry or moist condition or @ 350 ml/acre 15-18 days after sowing preferably in the moist soil. Grassy weeds like Egyptian grass or Madhana ghas ( Dactyloctenum aegyptium) and jungle rice (Echinochloa colona) or swanki can not be addressed with this herbicide. #Herbicide #Sorghum #CropReformer
