From Empty Land to a $50,000 Off-Grid Home—Built by a Female Veteran in 50 Days/ Part 2

This is the land my parents left to me, nestled amidst peaceful mountains and forests, surrounded by greenery, a fish pond, and rolling hills. After spending two months building the wooden house with my own hands, I am continuing to improve the property to settle into a stable, long-term life here. In this episode, I build a wooden deck, lay a concrete path, construct a stone retaining wall, revamp the garden, prepare planting beds, and sow peanuts. After discovering a snake hiding under my blanket, I decide to raise the wooden flooring, seal up any gaps, and install glass panels beneath the eaves to make the house more secure. Using leftover wood, I craft a semi-circular table, set up the bed, and decorate the room with a vase of lotus flowers. Each small project is gradually transforming the land my parents left behind into a peaceful sanctuary in the mountains.
