How to fix a broken or cracked gas grill or stove knob or other stem based knob

If you ever over rotated a gas grill knob or other knob, chances are, you cracked the inside plastic piece that goes over the metal stem of the grill. After breaking a couple myself and unsuccessfully trying to fix them using duct tape or glue, it hit me that I can use a hose clamp to easily repair. This is as easy a DIY as you can get and should take literally two minutes or less once you have the hose clamp. The hose clamp cost about a dollar as opposed to $20 for a new OEM and I think this will last longer than the original given it is reinforced by metal. Unlike the other suggested fixes that use glue or plastics, this won't melt! I plan to do this on my non-broken ones to reinforce them. Hope this helps!
