Dark Souls - Boss Fight - Gaping Dragon (optional boss)

The boss battle of the Depths area: the Gaping Dragon. This is an optional boss. The fight against this badass dragon is a little time consuming but fairly easy. Learning the moveset is not hard and you can dodge all of the attacks. Didn't mean to use the shrug emote at the end, I forgot I changed the order of them :P If you've got the Master Key, you can go through the New Londo ruins into the Valley of Drakes to access Blighttown. If you don't, the Gaping Dragon must be killed to obtain the key to Blighttown! The tail swipe attack has a big range, so it's a good idea to cut off the tail first, this way the fight will be even easier. Cutting off the tail will get you the Dragon King Greataxe: a high strength weapon with AoE attack. When the dragon slams into the ground, you can get 3 to 4 attacks in on the head before you need to run away, this is a weak point so you will do increased damage. All dragons are weak against lightning, so a gold-pine resin on a normal weapon deals much more damage. If the dragon starts spraying acid, run behind it. If you stand in the acid it will damage and break your gear, making the fight last even longer. In online mode, there's not a big change of tactics. Phantoms with ranged attacks can even stay outside the fog gate and still damage the dragon! Go for the tail first, and the fight should be pretty easy!
