US delivers military aid to Ukraine

The shipment is part of a $200 million package in security assistance from the US to deter Russia from invading Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on Twitter that the 130 ton shipment included javelins, grenades and other ammunition. Last week, the US signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland and Sweden to launch a Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine. U.S. officials say that with more than 100,000 troops nearing Ukraine's eastern and northern borders, the threat of a Russian invasion is more serious than others that have come and gone during the years of fighting between the Russia-backed rebels and Ukrainian forces.
