Season 1, Episode 1: "Leaving Earth" of the Mass Effect - The Fan Made Web Series The Mass Effect Fan Made Web Series utilises footage and information from across all three Mass Effect Trilogy games, with an emphasis on the main story structure from Mass Effect 3, and drawing lore from previous games where needed. This series also reinterprets and makes free use of this footage / information, with the aim to provide a clearer story arch, especially towards its end. If you have played the games, try to watch this series from a new perspective, as some of its content has been rearranged or adapted to create a more cohesive narrative. A PERSONAL NOTE: I dived into the Mass Effect universe for the first time in around 2008, and never was quite the same person since. As strange as it may seem to some, there are stories that change us, characters that stay with us throughout life, and this trilogy undoubtedly fits into those categories for me. I have been playing and replaying these games ever since I first discovered them, always discovering something new in its story and characters. This summer, I decided to replay the trilogy once again and, as a pet project of sorts, try and make some kind of cinematic tribute to it. It started out as a movie idea, but it quickly evolved into a mini series and now, finally, it's become 3 seasons of story and lore to watch. Doing this project obviously meant that I had to make certain choices instead of others, due to the nature of the games. Some players might be upset at some of my choices while others might enjoy them, but I tried to do my best in bringing out the most of this universe into a format that can be watched by players and non-players alike. The reason for this is that, this story and these characters are so incredible that I wish that people who don't play video games (or who simply never got around to playing these) can still experience some of this reality. Of course, if you haven't played the games, be advised on two things: 1) spoilers ahead; and 2) to really get the full experience, go out and play these games after you've watched this series. All that being said, I hope you'll enjoy the series! It was made from a place of much love for Shepard and her fight! :)
