2025 Late Season Idaho Elk — Day 1 | Big Bull Down Nick and Canaan make the long trip to Idaho for a late season elk hunt, with Canaan holding the tag—just his second elk tag ever and his first rifle elk tag. They arrive with only a couple hours of daylight left and waste no time traveling to a glassing knob to see what the country holds. Right away, they realize how steep and rugged the terrain is. As soon as the binoculars come up, Nick spots elk… and even better, a bull. Before dark, they glass several shooter bulls, and one in particular gets Canaan fired up to come back the next morning. On the first full day of hunting, they head back in to relocate the bulls from the night before. It doesn’t take long for Nick to spot another bull moving across the mountain. Soon they realize this bull is different—and much bigger—than the group they saw the evening before. They put the spotter on him and watch patiently until he finally beds down. With the bull settled, they mark his location on OnX and begin planning their stalk. At midday, they begin to make their move. Fresh snow from the morning makes the steep terrain slick and challenging, and they have to navigate carefully without bumping the other elk in the area. With thermals swirling and elk busting out nearby, the pressure builds as they close the distance. At just a couple hundred yards from where the bull was marked, the timber thickens and visibility becomes limited. Suddenly, they catch movement—antlers swaying through the trees. The bull is under 100 yards away. They stay low as the bull steps out from behind the cedars and gives Canaan a perfect broadside shot. Canaan stands up, steadies his rifle, and squeezes the trigger. The bull drops on the spot, then crashes and rolls down the mountainside. Moments later, they walk up and put their hands on an incredible Idaho bull after one intense and unforgettable stalk. This isn’t just a successful hunt—it’s the biggest bull ever taken on the channel. Canaan spends countless hours behind the camera, so Nick and Jalen couldn’t be happier to see him finally be the one pulling the trigger on a bull of a lifetime.
