DRY FLY ACTION | WE MATCHED THE HATCH | FLY FISHING DRIFTLESS REGION | WISCONSIN WILD BROWN TROUT

I really had no idea what to expect when I decided to fly fish at Duck Egg County Forest. First of all, Duck Egg? What kind of name is that! I guess it is not all that important because the proof was in the pudding. This section of the Bad Axe River was so loaded with fish its not even fair.. We were able to break out the dry fly for this session and really get into a few healthy brown trout that were looking up! The Wisconsin Driftless Region continues to surprise me, time and time again. This is a really well managed park, full of easy access to the water. With miles and miles of excellent hiking trails and fishable water, you have got to get out there! The Crystal Midge and the Copper John were the ticket during this session. It seemed like we could get one or two on the dry out of each hole before they got smart and we had to clean up with our Hopper/Copper Rig. Winter is over folks, the time to explore is here!
