7/10/19 Oxnard Commercial Box Fire

At 4:32pm on 7/10/19, Oxnard Fire Department responded to multiple bales of cardboard on fire, up against the rear of the Walmart located on N Rose Ave. As units were en route, T68 reported seeing smoke one mile out. When they arrived they advised conditions were as reported and upgraded the situation to a working fire. Engine 65 was the first unit on scene, and they immediately laid down hose lines, and initiated an aggressive fire attack, Truck 61 was assigned to roof division to check for extension to the building. It took about 45 to 50 minutes to control the fire. Walmart customers and employees were also evacuated from the building, and were allowed back inside after the fire was out. Oxnard police were also dispatched for traffic control.
