Sermon on the Mount- The Reward We Seek (Matthew 6:1-8, 16-18)

Are we performing our good deeds for God's eyes or for human applause? Jesus warns us against the hypocritical practices of the Pharisees, who sought recognition in their giving, praying, and fasting. Instead, we're called to a deeper, more authentic faith where our actions flow from a heart fixed on the Father. This message reminds us that God sees what's done in secret and rewards accordingly. It's not about the outward appearance, but the inward transformation. As we reflect on our own lives, let's consider: Are we seeking the temporary reward of human praise, or the eternal reward that comes from a sincere relationship with God? This teaching invites us to align our hearts with God's kingdom, finding joy in serving Him quietly and faithfully.
