Unboxing my new Kirtan Central Bhava Classic Harmonium

opening and first notes on my new Bhava Classic harmonium from Kirtan Central Sequim, WA 98382. I paid $629 (sale) for this online and paid the additional $50 for tuning. It arrived tuned in 7 days from the date of purchase to Los Angeles from Nicholas Dillon Old Deli Music, Urbana, IL. This is my first harmonium, but I have 45 years experience in retail and collecting musical instruments. There was a flood of information on the web about counterfeit builds, poor craftsmanship and emphasis on decorative arts while sacrificing basic instrument integrity and sound. After a serious period of investigation, I chose Kirtan Central because they put together an excellent website with great informative videos and they sold TWO harmoniums - both for the sole purpose of playability. I was originally going to buy a three or four reed instrument, but their site convinced me that a two-reed was the actual sound I needed. A bit less accordion like. More traditional for Kirtan singing. I am using this for film score work, so authenticity is very important.
