1.) Typhoon Mike 1990 - Typhoon Mike was the strongest typhoon to strike the Philippines since Typhoon Irma in November 1981. Mike was also the most severe typhoon to hit the Philippines since Typhoon Ike during September 1984, which killed over 1,000 people. The typhoon destroyed a television broadcast tower, radio towers, electric cables and bridges, which resulted in widespread power outages and several radio stations briefly went off air. Hundreds of villages were also rendered impassable. 2.) Tropical storm Thelma 1991 - Tropical Storm Thelma, known in the Philippines as Tropical Storm Uring, was one of the deadliest tropical cyclones in Philippine history, killing at least 5,081 people. 3.) Super Typhoon Angela 1995 - More than 900 people perished due to the catastrophic typhoon. It wreaked havoc over Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Bicol Region. Initially it caused 9.33 billion pesos of damage, but later on it grew into 11 billion pesos. 4.) Super typhoon Zeb 1998 - Zeb dropped torrential rainfall in Luzon, reaching 1,116 millimetres in one day in La Trinidad, estimated as a one-in-1,147- year event. The rains caused floods and landslides, which compounded with high winds to leave heavy crop damage. Zeb destroyed or damaged 85,844 houses in the Philippines, and damage in the country was estimated at ₱5.375 billion 5.) Typhoon Babs 1998 - Babs hit the central Philippines as a Category 4, and flooded an area just hit by another super typhoon, Zeb, only 7 days before. Hello! Thanks for watching this video.
