Or can you make good progress training by yourself? In this video we're going to discuss the PROS and CONS of having a workout training partner. There are very few exercises where you really "need" to have a spotter. Most of the time you can safely perform all your exercises by yourself and train hard enough to stimulate muscle growth without putting yourself at serious risk of getting injured. But there are 2 exercises where you should have a spotter - the Bench Press & Squat. In these moves if you rep out to failure without anyone to help, you could get yourself in trouble. However, you can work around this if you have access to a power rack or a smith machine with the safety catch bars.
