Crazy Rock Scramble to a 360-Degree View on Bearfence Mountain

There were no bears or fences, but the Bearfence Mountain rock scramble in Shenandoah National Park delivered a spectacular 360-degree view of the Virginia Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley. Come along with us on an exhilarating short hike to Bearfence Mountain Summit in Shenandoah National Park. This is a somewhat challenging hike from the trailhead parking lot along Skyline Drive at mile post 56.4 that will take you up a crazy rock scramble to the rocky outcroppings along the mountaintop. Parts of the scramble require the use of both hands to pull yourself up, but most physically abled people should be able to do it. Steep drop-offs along the top might not be ideal for those with a fear of heights. This is a very popular hike. During our few days in Shenandoah, this trail had the most people on it, but everyone was very friendly and courteous as we all took turns navigating the tricky rock scramble and sharing the great viewpoints along the top. 00:00 Introduction 01:56 Bearfence Mountain Trail 03:52 Rock Scramble 08:32 Bearfence Mountain Summit 11:42 New Friends 13:24 Bonus View 13:39 Wrap Up 14:41 Statistics Bearfence Mountain Trail: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/vi... #hiking #shenandoahnationalpark #virginia #shorthike #views #mountainview #rockscramble
