Like many Northern Michigan communities, Cadillac was built on logging, And on Saturday the Carl T Johnson Center in Cadillac gave people a chance to learn about it. Education Coordinator Mike LeValley told people about the many different jobs and tools that were used by loggers as well as the methods used to move them. Throughout the presentation several people were invited up to learn how saws and axes felt and were used first hand. The Logging industry helped build many local communities and this was a way for people to learn how their community was originally started.
